The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority had prepared the said document upon administrative request. Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood said that SMEs play a key role in fostering economic growth.
And SME facilitate employment generation and enterprise creation. He added that 99% of economic establishments in Pakistan were SMEs. He also highlighted the issues faced by the SME sector. He lauded SMEDA officials for preparing the draft as per the incumbent government’s economic policies, which are aimed at creating employment opportunities as well as boosting exports.
