The Naya Pakistan Housing Program has caught the attention of Canadian investors. Before this, China, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Turkey were among some of the countries to have shown an interest in this flagship low-cost housing project of the incumbent government.
A delegation of a Canadian construction company held a meeting with the Punjab Housing & Urban Development Minister recently. Company Chairman briefed the minister about the low-cost housing techniques and technologies offered by his firm. He shared the global construction experience of the company, and expressed interest in building houses under the NPHP initiative. Chairman told the minister that his company was capable of introducing new construction trends that utilized environment-friendly technologies.
The minister stated that that the NPHP’s aim was to provide quality housing at low cost, and that they would welcome foreign proposals that made their targets feasible. PM Khan had unveiled the NPHP project in October 2018. The provincial government has also initiated a NPHP project in Multan, and allotted state land at Madni Chowk to construct low-cost houses. Minister stated that they would initially provide modern flats in Multan on easy installments, at a cost of 3 Million Rupees.
